A Non-Profit Honoring this Fallen Marine, Rodeo Cowboy, and Hero.
Seth "Ringo Kid" Ring was a part of our rodeo family who left us way to soon. Seth was a kind, generous and life-loving soul. Each year since his passing, his family has chosen to give back to the members of this association through his name. One boy and one girl are chosen to receive a monetary scholarship gift as well as a beautifully-designed belt buckle.

The HD Hogan Memorial Rodeo Scholarship Fund has been established to honor the memory of this fallen Marine, Rodeo Cowboy, and Hero. It was established to carry on the legacy of the man he was, a true American who loved his country and the sport of rodeo. The HD Hogan Memorial Rodeo Scholarship Fund is a non profit organization that will be awarding college scholarships annually to high school seniors, to assist them in continuing their education and their rodeo careers in college.

The program rewards one girl and one boy each month with a Professional’s Choice Air Ride Saddle Pad and qualifies each monthly winner for two $1,000 scholarships (one boys and one girls) to be awarded at the end of the rodeo season. To be eligible for the honor, students must submit an application to the NHSRA national office in Denver.
The application includes questions about the extracurricular activities, volunteerism and goals of each applicant. As part of the application process, each applicant must also submit a letter of recommendation as well as a 150-word essay.
Winners are featured each month in the NHSRA Times. Scholarship winners are announced each year at the National High School Finals Rodeo.
The National High School Rodeo Association (NHSRA) annually awards well over one-half million dollars in scholarships through achievements in the arenas at the National High School Finals Rodeo (NHSFR) and the National Junior High Finals Rodeo (NJHFR), as well as through various scholarship competitions, funded through the generosity of national sponsors and NHSRA budgeting and fundraising. Added to that total are over one-quarter of a million dollars in Merit Scholarships funded through NHSRA and awarded by the state and provincial associations with numbers of scholarships based on membership.
Last year, North Carolina, gave away (5) $1,000.00 Merit Scholarship to our graduating senior class!
